HP Touts Flash as Killer App Against Apple's iPad - PCWorld Business Center - HP Slate
I've just run across an article explaining that HP has announced it's competing hardware to the Apple iPad. It supports Adobe Flash web content and will run Windows 7. This means that it will be about to run iTunes and almost everything a PC can run anyway. Things that the iPad will not be able to do. Personally,no Flash is a deal breaker for me. I need it. And I agree that a huge portion of the Internet uses Flash. Looks like I'm going with the HP Slate when it comes out. This just a heads up not being paid to write this. May be I can figure out how to be a tester?

Using The R Project for Statistical Computing
Introduction
I have been looking into the feasibility of using the R statistical package for adding better statisitcal models and analysis for our software . R is extremely powerful. Almost any statistical method is represented in it. The question I had is: How do I use R as a backend tool for our report generating software written primarily in VB.Net, SQL, and HTML?
Resulting Research
What I found out was that R plays nice with just about any technology available. There are tools for using R with a variety of interfaces written in on other languages where you can go back and forth from and to R:
In my search, I found that in order to truly embed R’s functionality and features in a windows application using Microsoft’s DCOM technology will get me the farthest fastest. It gives us as cloase to an API for R as possible

Apple iPAD
As you may have heard the new iPAD has been announced. G4TV has done a great job keeping us up to date. Most of the information I have on this blog post comes from them. My initial feeling is: I WANT ONE!!! WHAT? TWO MONTHS BEFORE I CAN BUT IT? NO WAY!!! Then I calm down and realize - no camera and no USB ports? Well, it can't be completely perfect...the sucker is close however. I'm ok with that. This is truly the Kindle killer.

YouTube - DELL Touchscreen Android leaked on film - CES 2010
Here is the video description!
YouTube - DELL Touchscreen Android leaked on film - CES 2010
Video footage of the Dell Streak - a 5-inch, touchscreen, Android-based mobile internet device, or MID - has hit the net.
Tinhte has gotten hold of one of the mythical machines and it looks like a pretty nifty internet tablet-type offering, although being much larger than a phone and much smaller than a netbook means it won't appeal to everyone.
With a 800 x 480 resolution screen, it's thought to run Android 2.0 and offer Bluetooth, 3G, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, a microSD card slot and Wi-Fi.
Hit play now to see a good 3 minutes of Streak action and we'll keep you posted with more news on this new device as we have it. More on www.tinhte.com

New Technology Lets You Download, Play Today's Games...In Your Car?
Recently I was just wishing I could stream video, games, and the internet to my car. Turns out someone else had the same idea. G4TV has reported that this is in the works

The potentially revolutionary streaming technology OnLive has demonstrated video games through a PC, TV, iPhone and other output devices -- but not a car. At CES 2010, GameStreamer will make its debut, a new service designed to allow those in a vehicle (we're assuming the driver is exempt!) to download and play some of today's biggest games.
GameStreamer relies on the vehicle being equipped to a Long Term Evolution network (LTE), a wireless broadband network. On the GameStreamer website, the company alludes to users being able to play games like Assassin's Creed II,Batman: Arkham Asylum, and others.
